There is controversy about activities carried on by the administration of President Trump. It involves Ukraine; a phone call with Ukraine’s new president, a former comedian named Volodomyr Zelensky; Trump’s Democratic competitor for president, former US Vice President Joe Biden; and Biden’s son, Hunter. Also, despite what appears to be attentive Wikipedia editing, it is evident that the younger Biden’s problems with substance abuse are a serious warning about the dangers of illicit drugs.
Perhaps ironically, Zelensky prevailed over his predecessor, an oligarch businessman named Petro Poroshenko, after a publicized drug test. Though their homeland lies at the eastern edge of the continent, Ukrainians have sought to be thought of as European. The large country’s already improbable aim for accession to the European Union is hurt by war. There could be some sort of nexus between national identities with one of Europe’s biggest countries, Italy, which has witnessed the rise of comedian Beppe Grillo’s Five Star Party. However, as with pervasive reports of endemic corruption, it is difficult to know the Zelensky story, especially if one does not speak Ukrainian.
Hunter Biden enjoyed particularly lucrative positions and pursuits in other countries such as China and Ukraine. He evidently did his best while his father was the second most important man in the world, in the first half of this decade; but held a position as a director of a Ukrainian gas company through 2018. The president’s personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani, deemed it worthwhile to re-aggravate matters recently, in the course of serving his boss.
Media can be needed in the face of ills such as abuses of power. However, persons can adopt a viewpoint that is the opposite of sanguine on its coverage of political matters. It is a problem when the tenor of a piece is that an audience can not form its own judgments on the same information, such as after a televised debate. Thus, President Trump’s frequently harsh criticisms of journalists and news entities can resonate, to an extent.
Consider this September 19th interview, in which there [was when broadcast an] implicit message that the network airing it values certain guests, such as Giuliani, higher than its own self-respect. The content may have similarity to when Trump revoked the Washington Post’s press credentials during or after the 2016 election. He was unsuccessful when trying to do the same with a reporter, after conflict with an administration intern, nearly a year ago.
After the exchange above, though not because of it, the House of Representatives initiated an impeachment inquiry. There is commentary suggesting that Giuliani could actually be among those in trouble. If one presumes innocence, and that there ultimately is not cause for government to punish anyone, then it would be the people’s decision if these matters have merit.
Key documents are available to the public. They include a report filed by a federal whistle blower, who is still unknown, alleging corruption and concealment within the Trump administration. There is also a transcript of a phone call between the US and Ukrainian leaders. The Kiev Post has English-language coverage (Kiev being Ukraine’s capital city).
As of today, there are results of a first domestic poll that reflects recent events. A majority of respondents indicate that they were unaware of the activities that Hunter Biden pursued in the presence of his father, who was acting as vice president, not only in Ukraine but also China. Upon being made aware, poll respondents view the Democratic candidate’s actions as “Inappropriate.”
10/15/2020 These matters persist with current news reports of a laptop containing email documents that ostensibly detail Hunter Biden’s lucrative international activities. Additionally, media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter evidently have suppressed news releases involving the personal computer’s contents. It is not clear if the laptop did in fact belong to Hunter Biden and that the records on it are accurate.

The above notwithstanding, per this data, Biden still leads his competitors.
Opinions may vary on whether everything mentioned falls within an effort to make persons aware of corruption. Formal allegations of wrongdoing are a possible result of the impeachment inquiry. Though this story must not help the Biden campaign, damage is not evident currently.
